Renal K+ Gel provides supplemental potassium for the management of hypokalemia in cats and dogs. Chronic kidney disease commonly causes hypokalemia, a condition where the potassium in the blood is too low. Oral potassium supplementation helps minimize muscle weakness induced by potassium depletion, improves renal function and may play an important role in the management of chronic kidney disease. Renal K+ Gel is a highly palatable oral formula that contains potassium gluconate and B-complex vitamins. Renal K+ may be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments, including Azodyl and Epakitin for renal support. Give adult cats and dogs 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp.) per 10 lbs. body weight twice daily.
